Blood tests in Poland for patients from abroad: how to buy, pay and get your results

In Poland you can have laboratory tests done privately, without a doctor’s referral and without Polish health insurance. You buy the test online, come to a collection point with an ID document and receive your results online. This page explains how to do it if you live abroad, are visiting Poland for a short time, or are a foreigner living in Poland.

Blood sample being taken at a collection point – blood tests in Poland for patients from abroad

Who this is for

  • Foreigners living or working in Poland, regardless of citizenship or insurance.
  • Poles living abroad who want tests done while in Poland (for example when visiting family) and take the results to their doctor at home.
  • Anyone who wants results quickly, with no doctor’s appointment and no queue.

How it works: 4 steps

  1. Choose a test or a test panel in the BadamySie.pl online shop. The shop is available in Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, German and English; prices are in Polish zloty (PLN) and are the same at every collection point in Poland.
  2. Pay online: by card (Visa, Mastercard), Google Pay, bank transfer from a Polish bank, or PayPal. You do not need a Polish bank account. After payment you receive an e-mail with your order number.
  3. Go to the collection point you selected when ordering: during sample collection hours (usually in the morning), normally fasting, with an ID document (passport or national ID card) and your order number on your phone. No referral, no doctor’s appointment, no booking needed.
  4. Get your results online: most basic tests are ready the next working day, specialised tests within a few days. You log in to the result with the code you receive at the collection point and your date of birth; the code is given to the person tested. The result is a PDF document with the laboratory’s stamp that you can show to a doctor in any country; test names and units are international (e.g. TSH, HbA1c, mg/dl or mmol/l).

Where you can have tests done

Over 800 collection points of the ALAB laboratoria, Synevo and ETER-MED networks across Poland, including all major cities: Warsaw, Krakow, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Poznań, Łódź, Szczecin. Addresses, opening hours, directions and parking for every point: blood tests near you.

How much it costs

Sample online prices (PLN): full blood count with differential 25 zł, TSH 36 zł, glucose 15.30 zł, lipid profile 50 zł, vitamin D 85 zł, ferritin 42.50 zł. Test panels are cheaper than the sum of individual tests. Full price list of 50 tests: laboratory test prices. The price is final; there are no extra fees at the collection point.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral or Polish health insurance?

No. Private tests are performed on the basis of your online purchase, with no referral, no NFZ (the Polish public health insurer) and no EHIC card.

Which document should I show at the collection point?

A photo ID: passport, national ID card or residence card. The details on the document must match the details you entered when ordering, because they are printed on the result.

Can I buy a test for a family member?

Yes. When ordering, enter the details of the person who will be tested (one order = one person).

Will the result be in English?

The result is issued in Polish, but test names, abbreviations and units are standard and understandable to a doctor in any country. Test descriptions in English, German, Ukrainian and Russian are available in the shop in the relevant language version.

How should I prepare?

Most blood tests are done in the morning, fasting (8–12 hours without food; water is allowed). Details: how to prepare for a blood test.
