Ni\u015aOZ (nocna i \u015bwi\u0105teczna opieka zdrowotna \u2013 night and holiday healthcare) provides medical and nursing care outside normal clinic hours: Monday to Friday, 18:00\u20138:00, and round the clock on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. There are currently 42 points<\/strong> in Greater Poland Voivodeship, with the largest numbers in: Pozna\u0144 (7), Ostrzesz\u00f3w, Pleszew and Zalasewo. When to use night and holiday healthcare<\/h2>\n

Ni\u015aOZ is intended for people with a sudden illness or deterioration in their health that is not life-threatening but cannot wait until their clinic opens: fever, infection, a sore throat, earache or abdominal pain without warning signs, vomiting and diarrhoea, a flare-up of a chronic condition, or the need for an injection prescribed by a doctor or a dressing change. There are no catchment-area restrictions and no referral is needed: you can attend any point in Poland, regardless of where you live or which clinic you are registered with. The doctor on duty provides advice in person, by telephone or, where medically justified, at the patient’s home. You need an identity document for the consultation; insurance is verified through the eWU\u015a system.<\/p>\n

In an immediate life-threatening emergency<\/strong> (loss of consciousness, seizures, severe chest pain, sudden breathlessness, extensive burns, vomiting blood or signs of a stroke), call 112 or 999<\/strong>, not a Ni\u015aOZ point. The free NFZ (Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia \u2013 Polish National Health Fund) Patient Information Helpline, 800 190 590<\/strong>, operates round the clock and helps you find the nearest point, but does not provide medical advice. Night and holiday healthcare points do not carry out routine laboratory testing: the doctor on duty assesses the patient’s condition and recommends the next steps, while blood tests (full blood count with differential, CRP, glucose, electrolytes, liver function tests, urine testing) usually need to be done the following day. You do not need to wait for a clinic appointment or have a referral: you can buy the tests online at BadamySie.pl<\/a>, have them done in the morning at your nearest ALAB, Synevo or ETER-MED collection point, and access the results online the same day or the following day to show your GP. The result report is issued in Polish.<\/p>\n
