Infertility \u2013 accurate diagnosis matters most! Find out which tests you need.<\/b><\/h2>\n

For well over a decade, infertility has no longer been a taboo subject. More and more couples are struggling to conceive, and statistics indicate that this problem affects as many as  15-25 per cent of people of reproductive age.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a>Infertility is not an irreversible condition and requires treatment, which produces positive outcomes in 90 per cent of cases. Accurate diagnosis and starting appropriate treatment are particularly important here.<\/p>\n

When can we talk about infertility?<\/b><\/p>\n

Infertility is only described as such when conception does not occur after at least a year of deliberately trying to conceive through regular unprotected intercourse (3-4 times a week).<\/p>\n

Couples often see a doctor after trying unsuccessfully for a baby for several months. In these situations, the specialist always advises patients to \u201cwait it out\u201d, lead a healthy lifestyle and have intercourse without tension or anxiety. When a woman is still unable to become pregnant after a year or two, this is referred to as infertility.<\/p>\n

Infertility can be either primary or secondary. Primary infertility  refers to unsuccessful attempts to conceive a first child, while secondary infertility affects couples who already have children, as well as women who have had a miscarriage or a stillbirth.<\/p>\n

Infertility is often confused with sterility, where the inability to conceive is linked to factors such as the absence of reproductive organs (including the fallopian tubes, uterus or ovaries), damage to male reproductive organs (such as the testes or vas deferens), or genetic predisposition. Sterility is a permanent, incurable inability to conceive, whereas infertility can be treated, very often successfully.<\/p>\n

What causes infertility?<\/b><\/p>\n

According to statistics, fertility problems are due to  female factors in 30% of cases and male factors in 30%, while in 10% of patients the source of the problem cannot be established.<\/p>\n

Difficulties with conception relate both to the individual characteristics of the woman and man and to the environment in which they live. The most common causes include:<\/p>\n
